In today’s digital age, like most things, recruitment is rapidly evolving. And one of the most impactful ways we have seen a shift recently is ditching traditional job adverts for engaging video content to attract the best talent.  

In this article, I’m going to delve into why the era of job adverts could be coming to an end and how video content is revolutionising the way companies connect with candidates.

Firstly, potential candidates can gain a better understanding of the job through video content. We all know that sometimes it’s difficult to get across the job requirements of a company or even the company culture in written form – so show them!  

By showcasing real employees discussing their roles and experience, you humanise your recruitment process, making your candidates feel valued as well as easily engaging them in your vacancy. According to LinkedIn, nearly 4 in 5 candidates (78%) say the overall candidate experience they receive is an indicator of how a company values its people. So, be one step ahead and make the first introduction to your company a good one!

92% of employees would consider changing jobs with no salary increase if the opportunity was with a company that had a strong employer brand, according to Glassdoor. Flipping this stat on its head, a positive employer brand not only attracts the best talent but also fosters employee loyalty and retention. Making your existing employees feel proud to be associated with a reputable and value driven company. It’s a win, win!

Millennials and Gen Z’s are the next generation that one day will be running your business. This generation will be making up a significant portion of your workforce and to engage with them in the best way, you need to ditch traditional job adverts for video content!  

Short, attention-grabbing videos optimised for social media platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok can attract the attention of digital candidates and drive higher application rates. 73% of Gen Z’s prefer video content over any other form of content on social media. The stat speaks for itself!
